COVID-19 & flu vaccinations
Regular vaccinations play an important role in protecting us from the severity of viral infections such as COVID-19 and the flu.
To discuss your vaccine options, simply make a booking with one of our general practitioners at the San GP Centre, conveniently located at Wahroonga within the San hospital complex.
Vaccination involves administering a weakened form of the virus to stimulate the body’s immune response without causing the disease. The frequency and need for vaccination boosters depends on many factors such as an individual’s immune system strength and any pre-existing medical conditions. Government health advice confirms those over 65 years are particularly as risk of severe COVID-19 symptoms, and COVID-19 booster vaccines are recommended.
You may find it convenient to book your COVID-19 vaccination at our medical centre at the same time as your annual flu vaccination, although appointments can be made at any time throughout the year.
During your appointment, one of our experienced general practitioners will review your personal medical history and advise on the appropriate vaccinations and frequency for future vaccinations. They can also address any questions or concerns you may have.
Even if you have had COVID-19, regular vaccinations are still recommended, and we encourage you to attend our medical centre so our doctors can advise you appropriately for your circumstances. Our Wahroonga location is easily accessible for residents of surrounding northern Sydney suburbs, including Turramurra, Hornsby, St Ives, Pennant Hills, Thornleigh, Beecroft and Cherrybrook.
If you have a positive COVID-19 diagnosis or are experiencing flu-like symptoms, we ask that you call the San GP Centre (02) 9480 9700 before attending an appointment to reschedule.
